Senior Vice President & CIO, NCR Corporation
Bill VanCuren is senior vice president and CIO for NCR Corporation. He is a leadership team member and sits on both the NCR Leadership Council and CFO Council.
As the CIO, Bill has oversight of the full application realization process, portfolio management, global networks and processing services for internal and external customer services, security and compliancy. He established the first NCR captive IT development center in India, championed the engineering processes to achieve the Capability Maturity Model (CMM) and has driven world-class levels of both efficiency and improved effectiveness through combined IT and business governance.
In recognition of the business value, innovation and support his IT Services (ITS) organization has provided the company, Bill was honored as a 2011 Georgia CIO of the Year. Additionally, NCR has been named to the Information Week500 for the past two years, as a result of the company self-service strategy being implemented for internal IT services.
With 30 years of experience in the information technology (IT) field, Bill has held progressively responsible positions in systems realization and IT general management. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree, Cum Laude, from the Ohio State University and his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Dayton. He has also received executive training at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, along with a variety of extended leadership training from NCR University and the University System of Georgia.
Bill is a board member of the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), as well as a member of the Georgia Tech College of Engineering Advisory Board, the Georgia CIO Leadership Association (GCLA) Advisory Board, HCL’s Customer Advisory Council and Oracle’s Leadership Circle.
He lives in Cumming, Georgia, with his wife, Jeannie, and his sons, Brian, Brad and Justin. Bill’s hobbies include skiing, boating and landscaping. Bill is a member of both The Ohio State University Buckeye Club and the President’s Club.
