Today, Georgia ranks #3 across U.S. states when it comes to the creation of new companies. In fact, from January 2021 through January 2022, Georgia accounted for about 350,000 of all new business applications filed nationwide.
Entrepreneurship is certainly not a new concept for our state. Georgia was shaped by companies like Coca-Cola, Turner Broadcasting and Delta, which were all once budding startup ventures. Entrepreneurs have always been crucial to the success and growth of Georgia’s economy.
This is why, at TAG, it is our responsibility – together with our overall innovation ecosystem – to provide the tools for budding and experienced entrepreneurs alike to succeed in our region and beyond.
As such, our Bridge Builders initiative is designed to create an equitable tech entrepreneurial landscape more representative of Georgia’s population. As it stands right now, only 1% of startups are black-funded or led, even though 32% of all Georgia residents are black. We are committed to help change this paradigm.
Additionally, as a founding partner of Venture Atlanta, we look forward to their upcoming conference Venture Atlanta on October 19th – 20th. The conference is the perfect place for local tech entrepreneurs looking to raise capital.
