HireIQ, Khush (acquired by Smule), Monsieur, Pindrop Security (investors include a16z) and ScoutMob are just some of the companies that made their debut at Business Launch.
Application Deadline: 5 PM, February 11, 2015.
The Business Launch Competition is presented in a tournament format with 3 levels: Preliminary, Semi-final and Final. This annual contest, in its 10th year, is brought to you by TAG in collaboration with Venture Atlanta and the Atlanta Metro Chamber.
All applicants attend and informally pitch the Selection Committee at the Meet ‘n’ Greet on Tuesday, February 17. Bring your game.
The Selection Committee will select the 18-24 to advance to Level 1 (Semifinal competition).
Selection is based on your application and quick pitch (1-2 minutes) at the Meet ‘n’ Greet.
Level 1 - Semifinal Competition
Level 1 startups will be assigned a pro from among our Mentors to help you power-up your executive summary aka your application and your 3-minute pitch.
A pitch-off at the Semifinal competition on March 17, 2015 determines the 8 startups to advance to Level 2.
The Semfinal competition will be open to the public and will feature an audience vote component.
Level 2 - Final Competition
The 8 continue to work with their pros to hone a 10-minute presentation in addition to the executive summary and 3-minute pitch.
The 8 do battle with their 3-min pitch in single-elimination tourney play on May 11 at SCADShow to determine the final 4.
That same day, the 4 vie for the $50,000 cash prize each with their 10-minute presentation followed by a 10-minute Q&A by the panel of judges.
