This week the Georgia State Legislature passed the historic Georgia hate crimes act with bipartisan support. There were many voices from our business and community leaders that laid the groundwork and ultimate passage of this legislation and we are proud to be one of them – thanks to all of you who supported this important initiative. Also, thanks to our elected officials for their leadership and foresight and being champions of this essential change. While this is one thing we said we would advocate for immediately, there’s little time to celebrate as there’s still much work to do. At the last meeting of our Board of Directors, we announced a new Social Justice and Equality Task Force that will develop actionable steps TAG will take to improve our technology community.
Education is an important strategy for TAG. Through training, thought leadership and our foundation’s efforts to promote STEM education, we continue to prepare the talent of today and the future. I am pleased to announce our 3 most recent recipients of scholarships from the TAG-Ed’s Kent Antley Scholarship Fund: Jennifer Deng, Snigdha Nellutla, and Anika Vennel. I am inspired by these leaders and am assured that the future of innovation is in good hands.
