July is a month that reminds us of the power of community.
As we celebrate Independence Day, I’m reminded that the strength of our country has always come from people who are willing to build, innovate, and invest in something greater than themselves. That’s a spirit we see every day across Georgia’s technology community.
June was a great example of that.
Our TAGit Global Innovation Cup once again brought together technology and business leaders from across the state for a day of connection, competition, and giving back. Thanks to our sponsors, golfers, volunteers, and supporters, the tournament was another tremendous success, helping create more opportunities for students through TAG-Ed while strengthening relationships across our technology ecosystem.
That same spirit of service continues this month with Building Impact Together, a collaborative volunteer initiative bringing together technology professionals and nonprofit organizations to solve real challenges. On July 17–18, volunteers will work alongside ten nonprofits, providing expertise in areas including technology, marketing, operations, fundraising, and business development to help these organizations expand their impact. It’s a powerful reminder that the skills that drive innovation in our companies can also strengthen our communities.
And we’re just getting started.
In August, we’ll welcome leaders from across the payments, banking, financial services, and technology industries to Fintech South, where we’ll explore the trends and innovations shaping the future of financial technology.
Then in September, we’ll introduce //SHIFT, TAG’s newest technology summit. This year’s theme, AI, will bring together the organizations building artificial intelligence, the enterprises putting it to work, and the leaders shaping its future through business, workforce development, and public policy.
Each of these moments reflects what makes TAG unique. We connect leaders, create opportunities for collaboration, and help position Georgia as a global hub of innovation.

Larry Williams serves as President & CEO of the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), one of the largest statewide technology associations in the U.S., representing more than 30,000 members. Now in its 25th year, TAG is focused on driving innovation, talent development, and forward-looking policy to keep Georgia competitive in the global tech economy.
With nearly a decade at the helm, Williams brings deep experience in both the public and private sectors.
