By Larry K. Williams, TAG president and CEO

Last week, TAG hosted our annual Converge summit, which provided us with the much-needed opportunity to have important conversations about workforce development and social justice, equity and inclusion.

We welcomed more than 40 speakers to the stage who shared their experience and best practices for fostering inclusive workplaces through cooperation and accountability. Furthermore, the agenda was filled with insightful presentations about diverse talent attraction strategies, data-driven DE&I and purpose-driven leadership.

In addition, we highlighted the trailblazers taking bold actions to foster inclusivity throughout the technology ecosystem in Georgia and beyond. Congratulations to the winners of our 2022 DE&I Awards program:

· DE&I Tech Impact Leader: Jennifer Baker, CTO, Synovus

· DE&I Emerging Tech Leader of the Year: Benjamin Yang, Research Engineer, Georgia Tech Research Institute

· Inclusive Technology Leadership Award: Cisco

I left the conference with one main takeaway: meeting the demands of our current technology workforce is a challenge for everyone, and we must work together to find non-traditional solutions. As such, we were fortunate to have representatives from both Google and Microsoft share the stage at Converge to provide actionable insights for participants.

The summit fostered an inspiring dialogue about diversity and inclusion that I hope we all continue in the year ahead. If you find yourself inspired to drive change in Georgia, please visit our website to learn how you can get involved in our Bridge Builders initiative.
