By Larry K. Williams, TAG President and CEO
It has been an incredible journey since the launch of our Bridge Builders initiative nearly one year ago today at the 2022 Georgia Technology Summit. Since then, our community has come together to double our initial funding goal.
We are incredibly grateful to our existing investors and members who have generously supported this program. I’d like to recognize Arketi for helping us develop our mission and marketing efforts, together with the program launch and activation. Together, we have been working towards our goal of advancing 1,000 Black individuals in technology careers over the next five years.
I’m particularly thankful to our program director, Dr. Loretta Daniels, for leading our efforts. Through our TAG Connect program, we’ve connected – and will continue to do so – Black tech entrepreneurs (sellers) with access to procurement opportunities from buyers. These are concrete opportunities to advance equity in our state.
At TAG, we believe not only in driving innovation but also in advancing diversity and inclusion in the tech industry. Our Bridge Builders initiative is just one example of how we are working towards this goal, and we are proud to see it gaining momentum. We hope to continue our efforts and inspire others to do the same.
