The spring and fall months tend to be the most active for industry conferences, and 2020 is no exception. Players in a FinTech scene as vibrant as Atlanta’s shouldn’t have to get on a plane- or wait out the seasons- to network or engage in thought leadership, though. A quick scan of the local calendar proves that’s indeed the case.

Organizations like the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) have provided plenty of such opportunities for some time, with more events being added constantly as awareness and interest in FinTech continues to expand. There’s so much activity it can be hard to keep track- because there hasn’t been a single source collecting all this information.

Until now. We’ve added a new tab to georgiafintech.org that aims to gather all of the Metro Atlanta FinTech-related events, whether or not affiliated with TAG. Check it out here and let us know what we’re missing!

Naturally we’re particularly proud of FinTech South, now in its ninth year and its third on the field of Mercedes-Benz Stadium. On Monday and Tuesday April 20-21 we’ll bring together more than 1,500 FinTech pacesetters from Georgia and well beyond for two days of innovation, lively discussion and networking. While the focus rightly remains on Georgia’s robust ecosystem, the agenda extends to speakers from the likes of Uber, HSBC Bank and AvidXChange. We hope to see you at our flagship event.

There’s plenty of action prior to April 20, including The Summit, TAG’s industry- spanning annual conference at the Cobb Galleria, as well as one of TAG FinTech’s frequent Lunch & Learns, which bring together groups of 50-100 for networking and interactive panel discussions covering timely hot topics.

An added bonus for 2020 is the Financial Health Network’s EMERGE conference, a national event that will be hosted in Atlanta this May 5-7. And although the HOPE Global Forum is no less national in scope (4,800 delegates spanning 60 countries), it has called Atlanta home for several years. This wide ranging symposium focuses on advancing financial inclusion and dignity and packs into two days a star-studded group of speakers that must be seen to be believed. This year’s HGF runs from May 27-29.

Speaking of inclusion, our goal is to provide as comprehensive a one-stop source as possible for Metro Atlanta FinTech goings-on. Crowdsourcing is our best approach toward achieving this goal. If you are aware of an event you believe should be listed, please email it to me at glen.sarvady@154advisors.com. We merely ask that it be FinTech-related and somewhat open to the public, even if by invitation.
