The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) is honored to announce its recognition at the Innovation Awards by the Technology Councils of North America (TECNA). At the annual TECNA conference, TAG won awards in two categories: Major Impact on the Tech Community, and Talent Pipeline & Workforce: Upskilling & Professional Development for the TAG Education Collaborative (TAG-Ed).
“It is an honor to see TAG awarded among our peers at TECNA for our impact on growing Georgia’s technology ecosystem, creating career opportunities, and connecting our community,” said TAG’s CEO and President, Larry K. Williams. “We accept these Innovation Awards on behalf of our 30,000 TAG members, the entire TAG and TAG-Ed team, and everyone working to make the state of Georgia a global hub of innovation.”
TAG’s meaningful contributions that were recognized at TECNA include the organization’s overall impact to Georgia’s technology sector over the last 25 years since TAG’s founding in 1998. TAG hosts multiple marquis events annually, including the upcoming Fintech South conference on Aug. 27-28, along with 18 professional societies hosting more than 150 networking events – all volunteer led from TAG members. Additionally, TAG’s LinkedIn community has also amassed more than 22,000 followers.
“On behalf of the TAG Board of Directors, we are thrilled to see TAG recognized at TECNA. Even though we’re celebrating TAG’s 25th anniversary, it feels like we’re just getting started in terms of community impact and growth,” said TAG’s Chairman of the Board, Kyle Tothill. “Thanks to the powerful combination of TAG leadership, TAG’s foundation, and all our hardworking Board members and volunteers, the future of innovation in the Peach State is very bright, and the best is yet to come.”
For TAG-Ed, the Innovation Award recognized the impact of the Pathways to Leadership professional development program. Now in its fourth year and accepting applications for its 2024-2025 cohort, Pathways to Leadership is a series of workshops facilitated by a TAG board member from the C-Suite on a key focus area such as project management, managerial skills, effective meeting management, contextual framing, and crisis communications.
“We launched the TECNA Innovation Awards to celebrate the accomplishments from members across the continent. What TAG has achieved with its overall impact in the state of Georgia, and TAG-Ed with its professional development programming, are shining examples for other organizations to follow,” said Jennifer Young, CEO of TECNA. “Congratulations again to the Technology Association of Georgia from the entire TECNA team.”
