TAG News

Atlanta, GA – [June 24, 2026] – The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) today announced that Cherie Fuzzell, former Senior Director of Business Development & Partnerships for Apple Wallet, Payments & Commerce, has been selected as the 2026 inductee into the Georgia Fintech Hall of Fame.

The Georgia Fintech Hall of Fame recognizes individuals whose leadership, innovation, and contributions have significantly advanced the financial technology industry and helped position Georgia as a global fintech powerhouse.

Fuzzell is a recognized leader in digital commerce and financial technology, with deep expertise spanning mobile payments, consumer cards, digital identity, transit, loyalty, and strategic ecosystem partnerships. She recently retired from Apple following an approximately 11-year tenure, where she played a pivotal role in the growth and expansion of Apple Wallet, Apple Pay, Apple Card, Apple Cash, Savings, and other emerging commerce and identity initiatives.

Throughout her career, Fuzzell has helped shape many of the technologies and partnerships that consumers rely on every day. At Apple, she worked closely with financial institutions, payment networks, transit agencies, merchants, loyalty providers, technology companies, and identity partners to expand secure and seamless digital payment experiences. Her leadership contributed to the continued expansion of Apple Pay, digital credentials and identity, transit ticketing innovation, and more.

Prior to joining Apple Apple, Fuzzell served as CEO of ParkMobile, helping transform the company into a leading global smart parking and mobility platform. Earlier in her career, she held senior executive leadership roles at Elavon, where she served as Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel, leading strategic initiatives involving merchant acquiring, payment processing, international expansion, and complex industry partnerships.

Fuzzell’s impact extends beyond operational leadership. She has served on numerous public and private company boards, including Intelligent Systems Corporation, where she chaired the Audit Committee, and Otix Global, where she chaired the Compensation Committee. She is also a former member of the TAG Board of Directors and remains actively involved with TAG’s Fintech Society.

“Georgia has long been at the forefront of payments and financial technology innovation, and I am honored to be recognized by an industry and community that has played such an important role throughout my career,” said Fuzzell.

“Few leaders have had a greater impact on the adoption of digital payments and mobile contactless technologies than Cherie Fuzzell,” said Larry K. Williams, President and CEO of TAG. “From driving bank adoption of Apple Pay, to helping integrate Apple Wallet across a range of industries, Cherie’s leadership has influenced how consumers pay, ride transit, present their ID and more. We are proud to recognize her contributions and welcome her into the Georgia Fintech Hall of Fame.”

Fuzzell will be formally inducted into the Georgia Fintech Hall of Fame during Fintech South 2026, TAG’s annual fintech conference, taking place August 18 at Truist Park in Atlanta. The event brings together fintech leaders, innovators, investors, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and technology executives from across the country to explore the trends shaping the future of financial services.
