A Pillar of the Fintech Community Honored for Transformative Leadership
ATLANTA, GA – June 3, 2025 – The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) is honored to announce that Sean Banks, Partner at TTV Capital, will be the 2025 inductee into the Georgia Fintech Hall of Fame. Banks will be formally recognized during this year’s Fintech South, taking place August 19–20.
This year’s conference theme, The Power of Connection, emphasizes the importance of partnership and collaboration—hallmarks of Sean’s leadership and impact across the fintech sector.
“Sean’s contributions to the growth and success of Georgia’s fintech community have been both wide-ranging and deeply impactful. He has been a builder, a mentor, a funder, and—most importantly—a consistent, committed presence who’s helped turn individual companies into a thriving ecosystem,” said Larry K. Williams, President and CEO of TAG. “His influence extends well beyond Georgia, yet it’s also been instrumental in putting our state on the global map as a fintech powerhouse. That kind of reach—and resonance—is rare. He hasn’t just participated in Georgia’s fintech story—he helped write it.”
As a Partner at TTV Capital, a premier venture capital firm focused exclusively on fintech, Sean has been instrumental in scaling some of the industry’s most successful startups. His strategic investments and ongoing mentorship have consistently transformed ambitious ideas into market-leading solutions—driving job creation and economic development throughout Georgia and beyond.
With more than two decades of experience in venture capital and technology, Banks has served on the boards of numerous high-growth fintech companies, providing guidance at every stage of their journey. He is also deeply engaged in the community, holding active mentorship and leadership roles with the TAG Fintech Society, TAG’s Board of Directors and Leadership Council, and the Venture Atlanta Selection Committee, in addition to being a founding member of the Fintech Atlanta Task Force.
“Capital investments are a critical component of building a healthy business ecosystem. Sean has played an integral role in funding some of the most successful fintechs to come out of Transaction Alley. Also, through his 10 years as the leader of TAG’s Fintech Society, he helped grow the society to what it is today,” said Mike Morris, Chair of the TAG Fintech Society.
“Sean’s visionary leadership and commitment have set a new standard in our industry and I can think of no one more deserving to pass the baton to for this year’s honor. His leadership and unwavering support for the fintech community have set a high bar for us all. Congratulations to Sean on this well-earned recognition,” said Barry McCarthy, 2024 Fintech Hall of Fame inductee.
“One of the things that drew me to venture capital was the opportunity to back founders who have visionary ideas with the power to transform our industry. But success is driven by collaboration; no startup founder goes it alone, and TAG has been an invaluable resource to companies across the region,” said Sean Banks, Partner at TTV Capital. “It is an honor to be this year’s Georgia Fintech Hall of Fame inductee, and I would like to thank the Technology Association of Georgia for this recognition.”
