Seven Georgia startups have been selected to the 2022 Innovation Challenge cohort as part of awards and recognition next week’s Fintech South conference.

ATLANTA (June 8, 2022) – The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), Georgia’s most prominent organization dedicated to growth in Georgia’s technology industry, today announces the cohort for the 2022 Innovation Challenge as part of the annual Fintech South conference. Innovation Challenge is an annual prize given to one company based in or founded in the state of Georgia that has a focus in financial technology.

The seven companies in the Innovation Challenge cohort participated in a four-week mentorship program to further develop their innovative businesses, products and solutions. Three of the seven companies will later be selected as finalists and deliver a presentation live at Fintech South on June 14th. Attendees of Fintech South will vote on their favorite of the three presentations. The winner of the Innovation Challenge will then receive a $25,000 cash prize and a free year of admission in the ATDC Accelerate program.

“We’re excited to bring the FinTech South Innovation Challenge back in-person on June 14th!” said Qazi Haq, Co-Chair of the Innovation Challenge at Fintech South. “This year, our chosen companies are driven by purpose and passion in trying to solve the world’s problems through financial literacy, inclusive financial vehicles and data-driven AI.”

This year’s cohort member companies are as follows:

  • Arcum Partners
  • Bank Shot
  • Defynance
  • Ecovert Wallet
  • Intellekt AI
  • New Guard Financial
  • Quinn Cobbledger

“The Georgia economy needs bright startups as much as global organizations,” said Larry Williams, President and CEO of TAG. “The Innovation Challenge is a great way for small fintech companies to find their roots and grow in the state of Georgia. While there is only one winner, all of these companies express the ambition and drive it takes to innovate in the fintech industry.”

The winner of the Innovation Challenge will be announced at Fintech South after live voting takes place on June 14th at the Georgia World Congress Center.
