Convey Services, a SaaS technology company headquartered in Roswell, today unveiled Cloud Conventions 2020, the largest virtual trade show in the telecommunications and cloud industry. The event will go live from May 11-14, 2020, hosting speakers, roundtable discussions, content and education. Cloud Conventions includes the elements of a trade show with live speakers, event-only promotions, live chat, discussion forums and on-demand content so vendors can connect one-on-one with sales partners across the country, without the risk and expense of travel.

“When 9/11 hit in 2001, I owned a growing conference calling company,” said Carolyn Bradfield founder of Convey. “In the days that followed, the business world was stunned, and our phones were silent as people tried to make sense of a senseless act. But a week later our phone lines were jammed by customers wanting to set up conferencing accounts for every employee. Businesses halted all travel until the world sorted out the risk of another attack. Our revenue shot up 40% that week and never declined, as everyone began using conferencing as a substitute for travel. Businesses discovered the power of conferencing to keep their staff home, save money and became more efficient. It transformed how people connected with each other.”

“With the Coronavirus epidemic, transformation will happen again,” added Bradfield. “Our company, Convey, operates industry-focused portal networks to engage and inform independent sellers in telecom, insurance and foodservice. Since the beginning of the year, we have been working on a virtual trade show with exhibit booths, speakers and even virtual swag bags with gifts and prizes. It is structured just like a live trade show and designed to bring new ideas to agents and sales partners. This weekend we learned that the biggest trade show in that industry was cancelled making it the latest live event to be scrubbed.

Attendance at many technology events has been declining steadily over the past decade, even though new technologies and global markets expand the audience. However, the double-edged sword is that the more people we connect to, the more opportunity for our business community will be exposed to maladies related to other regions in the world. Our belief is that virtual events can and should replace a lot of public events we have attended for years. We believe that more and more businesses will shift to a virtual environment like Cloud Conventions since technology does not transmit anything other than information and data. Industry evolves in the face of adversity with technology being a driver to reduce cost, improve efficiencies and keep people safer.”
