Bytes for Bites is a friendly two-week food and fund drive competition coordinated by the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) and the Georgia Food Bank Association. The goal is to engage Georgia’s technology and startup community in the fight against hunger through a friendly competition to benefit Georgia’s regional Food Banks. With more than 1 in every 5 Georgia kids at risk for hunger, this problem hits the hardest over the summer months when children no longer have access to free or reduced cost school meals.

So from June 10-21, the Infinity, Inc. team encourages IT companies and departments here in Savannah to join those across the state in raising funds and pounds of food to help our local food bank, America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia. Individuals and other businesses can contribute as well and should contact Infinity, Inc. about food and financial donations.

Infinity CEO Chuck Brown says, “According to the Department of Education, there are more than 50,000 children in coastal Georgia at risk for hunger. That should be unacceptable for us in the business community. Infinity has partnered with America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia for many years because they make a difference in people’s lives by providing nourishing meals in the most efficient way possible. Please join us in working to make this year even more successful than the last.”

Calling All IT Colleagues:

Coastal Georgia was represented in Bytes for Bites for the first time in 2018 with Infinity, Inc. proudly leading the effort. And after a spirited competition with EDTS and Speros locally, and more than 30 companies statewide, we raised nearly $70,000 and over 9,000 pounds of food. So now let’s do it again! The goal for 2019 is to raise $85,000, the equivalent of 340,000 meals.

We’re looking at you, fellow Managed Services Providers and businesses, local government, and universities with your own IT departments. Plus all you Creative Coast startups – let’s take a big bite out of hunger here in our own community!

Technology companies can register through Friday, June 21 to join the fight against hunger in our community, but you’ll only get bonus points if you register by June 1st.
