ATLANTA — May 11, 2021 — Aptos, a recognized market leader in retail technology solutions, today announced strategic additions to its executive leadership team. David Bertolino has joined Aptos as chief financial officer, Terry Geraghty has been named chief human resources officer and Jeremy Grunzweig has accepted the newly created role of Americas general manager. All three individuals will report to Chief Executive Officer Pete Sinisgalli, who took the leadership spot at Aptos in November 2020.
Like many businesses across all tiers, types and sectors, Aptos is focused on emerging from the pandemic stronger than ever. Buoyed by its capital commitment from Goldman Sachs in March 2020 and its subsequent acquisitions of Revionics and LS Retail, Aptos is on track to reach its highest year of revenue in company history in fiscal year 2021.
“We are maximizing investments in product innovation and accelerated roadmaps, global expansion, and in recruiting and retaining the brightest talent that the retail software industry has to offer,” Sinisgalli said.
“At a time when many of our competitors are scaling back resources, Aptos is doubling down on its mission to deliver world-class software and services that can help retailers digitally transform their enterprises and thrive,” Sinisgalli said. “I am confident that David, Terry and Jeremy as well as our recently announced Chief Product Officer Karthik Mani will add to our growth trajectory as we continue to make meaningful investments that elevate customer satisfaction and success.”
Details on Aptos’ newest executive leadership team appointments are as follows.
Chief Financial Officer David Bertolino
Bertolino joined Aptos on May 3 as chief financial officer and has more than 20 years of experience in international finance management and cross-functional leadership for enterprise technology companies. In his role at Aptos, Bertolino is responsible for overseeing the company’s global finance organization, including financial planning and analysis, accounting, and tax functions.
Before joining Aptos, Bertolino was the CFO at N3 (now part of Accenture), where he drove long-term strategic planning and analysis. Prior to N3, he held various financial leadership roles at Verint Systems. He joined Verint Systems through its acquisition of Witness Systems, where he had served as vice president corporate controller. Earlier in his career, Bertolino held leadership positions at Siemens and KPMG.
Chief Human Resources Officer Terry Geraghty
In December 2020, Geraghty arrived at Aptos as interim chief human resources officer. After several months on the job in an interim capacity, Geraghty was so energized by Aptos’ culture, colleagues and future potential that he chose to join the company on a permanent basis in April 2021.
With more than 30 years of HR experience, Geraghty directs Aptos’ global human resources functions, including talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, HR technology, and colleague training and development.
Prior to Aptos, he served as chief human resources officer for Manhattan Associates. Other positions in his career included consulting and leadership roles at Linkage, Inc. and McKesson Corporation.
Americas General Manager Jeremy Grunzweig
Grunzweig began his Aptos journey on May 10. As Americas general manager, Grunzweig oversees the sales, solution consulting, professional services and software delivery teams in the region. He also leads various global functions for Aptos, including sales operations, partner strategy and solution principals.
With more than 25 years of experience in improving organizational performance, Grunzweig has a strong track record in profit-and-loss management, sales, professional services and customer relationship management.
He came to Aptos from Global Payments, where he was a senior vice president. Prior to Global Payments, Grunzweig was the chief operating officer for the North America Retail business unit at MICROS Systems. Following Oracle’s acquisition of MICROS, he served as a regional vice president of sales for Oracle.
Aptos Shifts to Territory-Based Structure
Grunzweig’s regional general manager role reflects Aptos’ recent shift to a territory-based organizational structure. As Aptos continues to grow — increasing the number of colleagues and customers while deepening geographic penetration and product strength — it recognized the need to bring greater speed and agility to its localized operations in its three core markets: the Americas; Europe, the Middle East and Africa; and Asia-Pacific.
“With more autonomy, flexibility and cohesion within each territory, our regional general managers can be more responsive and best adapt their business processes to the customers they serve,” said Sinisgalli. “This model, common in software companies of our size, helps avoid internal bottlenecks and empowers colleagues to deliver on customer needs throughout the entire lifecycle — from sales and implementation to renewal and beyond – ultimately increasing customer satisfaction which is our number one goal.”
