ATLANTA, GA (January 14, 2019) – FinTech South, the Southeast’s largest event dedicated to financial innovation, is now accepting applications for the FinTech South Innovation Award. The annual program recognizes Georgia’s innovative, early-stage FinTech companies by showcasing them at the state’s premier FinTech startup competition. The winner will take home one of the nation’s biggest awards of its kind – $50,000 cash.

Part of the FinTech South conference, hosted by the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), the FinTech South Innovation Challenge is open to early-stage companies based in Georgia or committed to locating their headquarters here. To qualify, eligible FinTech startups must first apply and be accepted into the four-week Innovation Challenge Education and Mentoring program.

Eight to ten startups will be selected to participate in the program, which offers relevant educational sessions, mentoring from industry veterans, as well as access to a network of industry leaders based in Georgia. The program concludes with a “pitch night,” where a panel of judges will select three finalists to present and compete for the $50,000 FinTech South Innovation Award, presented at FinTech South on April 23, 2019 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

“This unique program and substantial cash award honors the exciting and transformational innovation happening right here in Georgia’s FinTech sector,” said Larry K. Willams, President and CEO of TAG. “Leading start-ups are offered an incredible opportunity to be mentored by the industry’s top veterans and to gain visibility on a global stage at one of the most important FinTech sector gatherings of the year.”

The deadline for applications is February 14, 2019. For eligibility requirements and to apply, visit http://www.www.tagonline.org/tag-fintech-innovation-award/.
