DoD Assessment Guides Released
If you do business with the Department of Defense (DoD), you will soon be required to demonstrate your compliance with the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) to a 3rd party assessor. Though CMMC guidance was released in January of 2020, the pace of the rollout has increased in recent months. In September, the DoD issued a long-awaited, interim rule to enhance cybersecurity throughout the Defense Industrial Base (DIB). The rule went into effect on November 30th and offered further information on the forthcoming CMMC framework. The focus on CMMC was further highlighted this month when the DoD released assessment guides for levels 1 and 3, of the 5 levels of CMMC.
