Sage Presents the Second Annual “HYPE About Tech” Conference at Clark Atlanta University to Empower Girls in STEM

Futureproof: Building Skills, Mindsets, and Habits That Outlast the Algorithm

Atlanta, GA – Feb. 5 — The second annual HYPE About Tech Conference, presented by Sage, will take place on Feb. 27, 2026, at Clark Atlanta University’s Thomas W. Cole Research Center for Science and Technology. This transformative event is dedicated to closing the equity gap in technology by inspiring local high school girls to lead in STEM careers of the future.

With the theme “Futureproof: Skills, Mindsets and Habits that Outlast the Algorithm”, HYPE About Tech will unite 300 students ages 16-24 with industry leaders and STEM educators for a day of innovation, empowerment and representation.

“Technology changes fast — algorithms evolve, tools become obsolete, but human ingenuity, leadership and adaptability endure,” said Kristina Newton, CEO and Founder of HYPE. “Through our second annual HYPE About Tech Conference to Atlanta, we will inspire young girls and future tech leaders to build the foundational skills and habits now to keep
ahead of the curve.”

To help girls become truly “futureproof,” the HYPE About Tech Conference delivers experiences that go beyond technical skills — focusing on the mindsets and habits that will help them adapt to a rapidly changing tech world.

“The speed and sophistication of modern technology demand attention and caution. Yet, our mindsets and values truly shape how technology evolves and is engaged,” says Stacey Abrams, entrepreneur. “Human curiosity, adaptability and purpose are what will drive lasting progress in our lives. I hope Futureproof will remind the inspiring women, small business and nonprofit leaders mapping our future of this partnership: that pairing technology’s ambition and innovation with values and community will be the key to owning the algorithm.”

“We are deeply grateful to Ms. Abrams for being a trusted thought partner championing this work,” added Newton. “Her perspective grounds our shared vision and sets the stage
for how this partnership comes to life through intentional, people-centered learning.”

From hands-on learning to holistic support, every HYPE About Tech breakout session is crafted to prepare future leaders for success in a world where technology never stops evolving. Conference highlights will include:

  • Exclusive panels including an all-women CIO discussion with panelists such as Kathy Kountze, Chief Information Officer at Bose Corporation; Keisha James, Chief Information Officer at Cummins, Inc. and Kateau James, Chief Information Officer at McKinsey & Company.
  • High-impact networking opportunities with esteemed tech professionals.
  • Real-world insights on staying adaptable as careers and technology evolve.
  • Career-ready resources, exhibitors, prizes and more!

For the second consecutive year, HYPE in Tech is made possible through the support of presenting sponsor Sage, a global leader in accounting, financial, HR and payroll technology. Sage’s commitment to HYPE About Tech reflects its broader mission to create a more inclusive tech ecosystem by investing in education and workforce development for underrepresented communities.

“Innovation lasts when everyone has a seat at the table,” said Renee Mathewson, Vice President of Brand and Corporate Affairs for Sage North America. “By investing in the
mindsets and habits, we’re investing in girls who will shape the next era of tech. Partnering with HYPE About Tech allows Sage to champion a more inclusive, more imaginative future
— one where talent, not access, determines opportunity.”

Additional sponsors of the second annual HYPE About Tech Conference include CocaCola Women in STEM, Kaiser Permanente and Delta Community Credit Union.
