Georgia 2018 Computer Science Stats

Computing is changing every part of our lives, from how we interact with each other to how we do our jobs. It is the number one source of all new wages in our economy and there are currently 500,000 open computing jobs across the United States. Yet the US education system does not provide widespread access to this critical subject. This report contains the status of computer science education policy across the nation and a first look at school-by-school data on the availability of computer science in high schools.

Clay County chosen as site of $89 million solar energy project

A major economic development project that will bring an estimated $89 million investment in two solar facilities to Clay County. The Silicon Ranch solar project consists of two sites in the county that will produce 106 Megawatts of power. The power from this facility will be sold to Green EMC, which is a conglomeration of 38 cooperative electric corporations.

Strong Tech Hiring Across the U.S. Economy in October

U.S. information technology (IT) sector employment expanded by an estimated 11,700 jobs in October, the strongest showing since this spring, according to an analysis released by CompTIA.

DOD Expands Tech Talent Initiative to Develop Critical Cyber Capabilities

The Defense Digital Service (DDS) announced the expansion of an initiative to cultivate and engage technical talent in the Army by bringing together skilled cyber soldiers and top civilian technologists to rapidly build cyber capabilities. The program expansion is marked by the opening of ‘Tatooine’- a new DDS workspace launching in downtown Augusta, Ga. The workspace is designed to house tech teams, cultivate talent, and promote innovative ways to solve mission challenges.
