Winners Chosen at TAG Young Professionals’ Inaugural One in a Millennial Awards
A Celebration of the Coming-of-Age of Millennials in Technology and Business in Georgia.
ATLANTA, GA (September 24, 2015) – TAG Young Professionals, a society aimed to connect and help young professionals develop in their careers and expand their horizons, held its first-ever One in a Millennial Awards on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 6 p.m. at the newly launched General Assembly Atlanta inside Ponce City Market.
By 2020, millennials will represent half of the workforce in the world. Many individuals from this generation are coming of age and establishing their place in society. The awards celebrate this new era in the workforce and recognize some individuals who are leaving their footprints in the technology and business communities of Georgia.
Over 100 people were in attendance to celebrate recognized individuals who are already making a name for themselves in technology and business communities in the following categories:
- Sales Leader: Anthony Zhang, Director of Sales, SalesLoft
- Professional Services Leader: Katie Rogers, VP Professional Services, SalesLoft
- Technologist of the Year: William McGinnis, Software Engineer, Predikto
- Marketing and Social Media Leader: Kelly Schmalz, Marketing Manager, Springbot

- Best Personal Brand: Sonia Lakhany, Trademark Attorney, Lakhany Law, PC
- Top Newcomer: Melissa Nemec, Director of Community Operations, Tech Talent South
- STEM Education Leader: Sarah Lashinsky, Maker Mentor, Community Guilds’ STE(A)M Truck

“It’s really great to see such a high turnout on our first awards night. Our goal as a society is to set up something for young professionals to gather and interact for the future. The program's keynote speaker was Sangram Vajre, Co-Founder & CMO of Terminus, a B2B marketer that simplifies account-based marketing to reach and engage targeted accounts across all stages of the buyer’s journey. Mr. Vajre is a passionate marketing geek at heart and loves to solve problems, both analytically and creatively. He has invaluable experience from exposure to startups, consulting, and global companies.
