Georgia Technology Summit Celebrates A Decade and Beyond


Media Mogul Ted Turner to be honored as event brings together the brightest minds from the state’s technology community.



ATLANTA (March 26th, 2014) – The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) announced that it expects over 1200 technology professionals to attend one of the nation’s largest statewide gatherings of technology companies and professionals at the 2014 Georgia Technology Summit which is being held today at the Cobb Galleria Center.


This year’s event will focus on “Innovation Connections: Celebrating a Decade and Beyond” and will feature scheduled keynoters:

  • Ted Turner- CNN founder in a rare public appearance and the latest to be inducted into the Technology Hall of Fame of Georgia.
  • Joe Plumeri- Senior Adviser to the CEO and a member of the Board of Directors of First Data Corporation will offer his insights to the GTS audience.


  • Terry Jones- leading internet expert, founder of Travelocity.comand Founding Chairman of will share his unique perspective on innovation.


  • Carl Eschenbach, President and COO, VMware, with John Marshal, SVP/General Manager at Atlanta-based AirWatch discuss their recent $1.54 billion deal.
  • TAG’s Top 40/Top 10- Georgia’s most innovative technology companies

The State of the Industry: Technology in Georgia Report will also be unveiled at the Summit. The annual report is a repository of facts, statistics, trends and other insights and serves as a resource for large and small technology business owners and decision makers.
