Auto Executive to Keynote 2013 Excalibur Awards
TAG October 18thevent to celebrate organizations that demonstrate the best use of technology
ATLANTA (October 7th, 2013) – The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) today announced that Ken Gray, Executive Director and CIO of Global Brands, Sales, Marketing and Telecommunications at General Motors(GM) will be the keynote speaker for the 2013 Excalibur Awards. The event will be held on October 18th at the Waverly Renaisannce Hotel in Atlanta.
At GM, is responsible for a wide range of IT initiatives for the $152 billion automaker, including all application development in support of the sales and marketing divisions, dealer systems and global brands. Gray also is responsible for the company’s telecommunications engineering and operations teams.
Gray has more than 25 years of experience as an IT leader in Fortune 50 companies. Prior to joining GM in 2012, Gray worked as the Vice President of Infrastructure at Hewlett-Packard (HP). He was also instrumental in HP’s data center transformation initiative, where more than 85 data centers of greater than 5,000 square feet of raised-floor “white space” – plus hundreds of smaller facilities – were consolidated into six state-of-the art, next generation data centers located in Atlanta, Austin and Houston.
Gray joined HP from Dell, where he had held several position including director of enterprise data warehouse, and director of manufacturing and supply chain. He joined Dell in 2001 after a 14-year career at Wal-Mart stores Inc., where he held various IT positions.
“Ken has a long track record of success when it comes to technology innovation,” said Tino Mantella, president and CEO of TAG. ”We are honored to have someone with his knowledge and achievements to speak at this year’s Excalibur Awards,” Mantella added.
The Annual Excalibur Awards celebrates Georgia companies and organizations that demonstrate the best use of technology, typically provided by a third-party, to solve complex issues and processes in business and education. Tech-enabled companies that develop their own non-commercial technology solutions to enhance their organization are also considered for the awards which are presented by TAG in collaboration with the Business and Technology Alliance of TAG (B&TA).
