Atlanta-Based Techturized Wins 2013 TAG Business Launch Competition 

Three startup companies competed in the final round for a combined $400,000 in cash and services

ATLANTA (May 10, 2013) – The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) today announced that Atlanta-based start-up company, Techturized is the winner of the 2013 TAG Business Launch Competition. Techturized will receive $50,000 cash and over $100,000 in donated services from the Atlanta business community to help the company grow.
“We congratulate Techturized and all of the companies who competed in this year’s extremely strong competition,” stated TAG’s Chief Operating Officer, Melanie Brandt. “We look forward to the growth and continued success of these companies and we thank all of our sponsors and volunteers who have made the TAG Business Launch Competition possible.”
Techturized and two other finalists faced an all-star panel of judges during the final round of the competition on May 9. The panel consisted of venture capitalists and investors from across the nation, including John Glushik, Intersouth Partners; Ashish Mistry, BLH Venture Partners; Steve Fredrick, Grotech; Jonathan Ebinger, BlueRun Ventures; Wayne Hunter, Harbert Venture Partners; and Robert Frohwein, Kabbage. Atlanta Entrepreneur and Investor David Cummings also participated as the Moderator of the Prior Winners discussion.
Rigor and Sideqik, the other TAG Business Launch finalists, will split the more than $200,000 in remaining pro bono services, including legal counsel, professional consulting, marketing, software and even real estate space.
The TAG Business Launch Competition, now in its eighth year, facilitates connections between the younger startup community, seasoned entrepreneurs and the investor community. Applicants are screened by an experienced panel of entrepreneurs and the most promising companies are assigned a mentor for the duration of the competition.  Representatives from out-of-state venture capital companies sit on the judge’s panel and a multitude of angel and venture capital investors attend the final event.
Since it was founded in 2006, the TAG Business Launch Competition has become one of largest competitions of its kind in the United States, providing $500,000 in cash and over $1,500,000 in donated services to more than 200 young entrepreneurs.
