C-Level Roundtable Host
SVP & CIO
Tom Hall brings the strategic focus, vision, and mature judgment to IT initiatives that allows him to partner with Executive and Senior Management to assess return-on-investment for IT initiatives, align IT initiatives with business strategy, establish priorities, and drive business objectives. Tom started his career over 20 years ago as a COBOL programmer. His career has been focused in the applications development arena where he managed applications for pharmaceuticals, medical devices, discreet and repetitive manufacturing, and the government sector. Tom has been responsible for global SAP implementations, warehouse management, point-of-sale, payroll and human resource, and sales force automation programs. Tom is currently the Senior Director, Business Solutions Delivery at the Automotive Parts Group (NAPA) division of Genuine Parts Company. In this role, Tom is responsible for all development, integration, and business analyst functions for point-of-sale, warehouse management, and back-office functions.
Tom lives and works by these mantras; work on what is important, not what’s urgent, strike a healthy balance between activity that will move the needle long term, versus what will quiet the noise today. And, you can’t start writing the next chapter when you are still reading the last one.
Today, the expectations on a CIO are great. CIOs need to be skilled business leaders with strong cross-functional skills, have global experience and possess exceptional interpersonal and soft skills. Additionally, they need to have the ability to be forward-looking, to provide innovation through technology, to re-design business processes and be proactive in aligning business and IT.
The CIO Roundtable Series provides the best venue for CIOs to further develop their skills and knowledge base. It serves as the premier place for Information Technology executives to interact with peers in a non-selling and non-competitive forum.
