The New Role of Chronic Disease Management Tools in Fighting COVID-19

Steven Liu is the founder of Ingenious Med and creator of the original application. He served 10 years as the company’s executive chairman and CEO and now functions as a company director and CMO with a focus on overall vision and direction of the company and its solutions.

Previously, he was an Assistant Professor of Medicine, Site Director and Director of Medical Informatics for the Hospital Medicine Division at Emory University in Atlanta. Before his pursuit of medicine, Dr. Liu received a B.S. in Engineering from the University of Virginia and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Washington University, Barnes-Jewish Hospital. He is actively board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Liu is currently involved in multiple projects involving care coordination, patient transition and healthcare cost management and continues to practice as an ICU hospitalist at Scripps Healthcare in San Diego, California. He is an active member and Senior Fellow of the Society of Hospital Medicine and has participated on numerous committees such as the Society’s Benchmark, Practice Management and Public Policy/Practice Issues committees. Dr. Liu has received recognition as one of the nation’s Top Hospitalists by the American College of Physicians and was the 2011 recipient of Modern Healthcare’s Physician Entrepreneur of the Year.
