In November, 2021, the Smart Communities & Sustainability Society inaugural event focused on the opportunities created for Georgia with the passage of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) which included $1.2T in spending in the areas of Transportation, Broadband, Water, and Energy. In August 2022, the Senate passed the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 which included ~$370B for Energy Security and Climate Change. Their programs have the potential to be transformational in the areas of infrastructure, energy, decarbonization, and sustainability. The focus of this event is to look back at what has happened in Georgia after the 2021 Infrastructure bill and look forward to the many opportunities and risks ahead.
