TAG Health focuses on Georgia’s rapidly expanding healthcare field. Healthcare IT and management professionals, physicians, allied health professionals and hospital administrative personnel are all members of the Society. We focus on the rapid advances in healthcare technology that are having an enormous impact on the field. Emerging biotech firms, new drugs and treatments, regulatory pressures, funding for promising start-ups and the management of a sea of healthcare information are all covered by the Society’s programs. The TAG Health's mission is to be a catalyst for furthering Georgia as a leader in healthcare technology, through opportunities in education, networking and collaboration by working with society members, community leaders and industry stakeholders to create an environment that will facilitate the realization of this mission.

The TAG Health Board would like to thank Board member Alan Urech for his insight and contribution to the Board.

TAG Health Presents: A Conversation with Duke Margolis - Real World Data - Opportunities and Challenges

Date: June 14, 2019

Time: 11:30AM-1:00PM

Roam Perimeter Center
1151 Hammond Drive NE, Suite 240 (2nd floor)
Atlanta, GA 30346

The 21st Century Cures Act now allows the Federal Drug Administration to approve medical trials based on real world evidence and real world data.  The potential for many new life saving drugs and devices to reach the market quickly is exciting, but this blue ocean frontier still needs policy to guide safety and efficacy standards, leading many to ask how and when to leverage real world evidence/real world data (RWE/RWD).

Duke University’s Margolis Center for Health Policy is leading the conversation with researchers, policy makers, and industry to shape the way that real world data can be used.  Dr. Gregory Daniel, Duke Marolis’s Deputy Director will key note this event, sharing his expertise and insight on the key opportunities and challenges that Duke Margolis sees in its policy work.

A panel discussion with healthcare industry leaders who are driving the RWD discussion will follow.  In addition to Dr. Daniel, panelists include Dan O’Connor, Chief Strategy Officer at CioxHealth, Davind Maharaj, VP of Hosting & Client Technology at AllScripts.

Lunch will be provided.
