March 3rd - "Stress in the Workplace" - 5:30PM

The current economic downturn has created stress for virtually all working-age American. Those who are out of work feel the stress of unemployment. Those who are fortunate enough to still be employed are feeling stress due to added workload, pay cuts, and the potential for being laid-off themselves. This program will provide an overview on the current status of stress in the workplace with a particular emphasis on recent publications from the American Psychological Association and the Georgia Psychological Association. In addition, this program will cover the way stress typically affects people as well as an overview of effective coping strategies.
