Greater Augusta State of the Industry Report & Where Georgia Leads Map Unveiling Event 

In order to increase awareness of the technology industry in Georgia, TAG Greater Augusta Chapter will be hosting a discussion of the State of the Industry Report on Wednesday May 27th 4:30 PM at the Development Authority of Columbia County. Join us and TAG President & CEO, Tino Mantella for an overview of the State of the Industry Report. The TAG State of the Technology Industry Report was created to be a useful tool for Georgia's many technology stakeholders. There will be ample time for Q&A. In addition to the State of the Industry Report, TAG will also unveil its official Where Georgia Leads (WGL) Map for the Greater Augusta Region.

TAG-Education Statewide Internship Program



The TAG-Ed Summer Internship Program provides real-world experiences for high-achieving students with strong STEM aptitude. Students are placed in companies interested in investing in STEM talent and impacting the future technology workforce. The Development Authority of Columbia County is offering funding assistance to Columbia County businesses willing to participate in TAG Ed's Summer Internship Program.

TAG-Education Collaborative Announces 2015 STEM Awards -- Statewide Call for Nominations

The fourth annual STEM Education Awards honors Georgia schools, programs, and companies for outstanding efforts and achievements in supporting and promoting science, technology, engineering, and math education. Key STEM education stakeholders are encouraged to join us for this important gathering of though-leaders August 28, 2015 at the Carlos Hellenic Community Center. Nominations are due by 4:00PM June 5, 2015. Nomination categories include: Elementary School, Middle School, High School, STEM Certified School Outreach, Post Secondary Outreach, Extracurricular Program, STEM Day Activity, and Corporate Outreach.

Richmond & Columbia County Schools Prepare for New Cybersecurity Curriculum

 

The State Department of Education gave its approval on April 2 for five schools in Richmond and Columbia Counties to begin implementing a new cybersecurity career pathway. Teachers and students are busy preparing for the new curriculum scheduled to be implemented in classes during the fall semester. The new pathway was born from the partnership between Georgia Universities, Augusta School System, and Fort Gordon's Army Cyber Command, is designed to train students in computer networks to protect both military and civilians.

Cyber Security For Defense Event Comes to Augusta June 24-26



The Cyber Security Defense event brings together some of the Military's key decision makers to provide insight and guidance to industry on future cyber requirements and brief overviews of the Military organizations responsibility of protecting us against cyber attacks. The event will take place at the Augusta Marriott June 24-26, 2015. The agenda offers unique sessions on national cyber defense policies including recent programs and requirements, as well as understanding the newest technologies and innovations currently available.

Former Chamber Building Reopens as a Downtown Incubator

The idea behind renovating the former Chamber building originated to enhance the regional collaboration and to spur economic development. Thus, the former Chamber building reopened in April 2015 as a downtown incubator aiming to cultivate the community's technology and innovation growth.
