Deal: Budget Priorities

Gov. Nathan Deal released his budget recommendations to the General Assembly for the amended current and upcoming fiscal years. Budget priorities include building an educated workforce capable of meeting future job demands, expanding and improving services for Georgia’s most vulnerable citizens, and continuing to invest in transportation infrastructure and economic development.

Deal: 'Nothin' lame 'bout this duck'

Entering his last year in office, Gov. Nathan Deal warned anyone running for governor this year to accurately portray the state's economic and financial gains over the last seven years.

 

"To those trying to use our record for their gain, and to those insinuating that our economic potential is not as great as it is, if you begin firing shots, just remember that we have the ammunition," Deal said in his final Eggs & Issues event before the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. "We have the facts, we have the truth, and we aren’t afraid to use them." In short, there is nothin’ lame ‘bout this duck."

Groupe PSA Chooses Georgia for New North American Headquarters

Gov. Nathan Deal and Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms announced that Groupe PSA, a French multinational manufacturer of automobiles and motorcycles, will locate its new North American headquarters in Fulton County. With its five world-renowned car brands, Peugeot, Citroën, DS, Opel and Vauxhall Motors, as well as its mobility application brand called Free2Move, Groupe PSA is one of the largest car manufacturers in the world, and the second largest in Europe.

Georgia Investment Tax Credit

Investment tax credits help Georgia businesses grow by making it more affordable to expand and improve facilities. Companies in manufacturing or telecommunications support that have operated in Georgia for at least three years are eligible to earn investment tax credits for upgrades or expansions. Credit earned amounts to 1 percent to 8 percent of qualified capital investments of $50,000 or more.
