TAG SPOTLIGHTS TECHNOLOGY LEGISLATOR OF THE YEAR
Representative Bruce Williamson awarded for support of industry
ATLANTA (June 18, 2013) –The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), the state’s leading association dedicated to the promotion and economic advancement of Georgia’s technology industry, today announced that Georgia State Representative Bruce Williamson (R-Monroe) has been awarded with the 2013 Technology Legislator of the Year Award. The award is given annually to lawmakers who demonstrate superior support and understanding of Georgia’s technology issues and industry.
“Representative Williamson has been an ardent supporter of the technology industry during his tenure in the state legislature. TAG is appreciative of his efforts to advance the Invest Georgia legislation and the renewal of the Angel Investor Tax Credit Extension,” said Tino Mantella, president and CEO of TAG.
“Having been an entrepreneur, business owner and investor for many years, I understand the importance of small businesses being able to access capital for business growth,” said Rep. Williamson. “As this industry matures, it is vital that funding mechanisms are in place to ensure sustainability and job creation.”
The award was presented to Representative Williamson before a crowd of technology leaders and stakeholders at a special gathering on June 18 held at Deloitte.
