Runners Brave the Elements for Techie 5/10 K Walk & Run

Annual Event supporting Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Education in Georgia attracted over 300 participants.

ATLANTA—October 5, 2015-- The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), and the TAG Education Collaborative (TAG Ed) hosted its 7th Annual Techie 5|10K Walk and Run on Saturday, October 3rd at the Technology Park area between the cities of Peachtree Corners and Norcross in Gwinnett. 

This year, more than 300 runners and teams from across the metro Atlanta area participated in the race which was presented by TAG and sponsors, Aaron’s, Cox Automotive, and OpenSpan.

This year’s top winners include:

5K Team Winner:  CORUS360

5K Individual Runners:

10K Team Winner:  North Highland

The 7th Annual Techie 5|10K Walk and Run benefits the TAG Education Collaborative (TAG-Ed), a non-profit which promotes STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Education in Georgia through web challenges, student internships, scholarships and more. It is predicted that some 211,000 STEM-related jobs will need to be filled in Georgia by 2018 and TAG-Ed is dedicated to helping the state prepare for these jobs.
