THE TAG IOT HACKATHON 2017

 

WHY?

We want to do more than talk about IOT we want to build it! The internet of things symposium will gather the greater Atlanta community together on August 31st. 2017 IoT Symposium Website

The hackathon is intended to develop proof of concepts to help the community understand the possibilities of internet of things. We want to do more than talk about IoT we want to build it!
As an IOT use case, we would like to see how we could improve a high school sports stadium.

WHO?

Hackathon is for everyone!

Hackers who write the software
Geeks who build the devices and infrastructure
Makers who craft reality from idea
Storytellers who listen to and tell the customer journey
Innovators who understand the business of IoT

WHAT?

The Challenges we want to do!
Team Challenges Aim to Demonstrate Proof of Concepts of Internet of Things in:

MEDIA (Improving the sights, sounds, sharing of data, weather, scoreboards, kiosks, maps to get to the stadium, to the seats, and Transportation to improving the transportation of the fans to the stands, performers to the field)
FACILITY MANAGEMENT (Improving the delivery of power, lighting, water, trash, restrooms, parking as well as the logistics of supplies and goods.)
RETAIL/FINTECH (Improving the food/drink/merchandise experience for the guests and the volunteers and support for the health, safety of the fans and the performers)
OPEN CHALLENGE (Solutions that cross more than one category)

WHEN?

August 11, 12 and 13th

Training - Friday 1pm to 5pm
Hackathon - Friday 5pm - 10pm &
                     Saturday 9am to 9pm
Open House - Sunday 2pm to 4pm

Volunteers still needed!

Coaches - will meet with each team one on one and provide feedback after every sprint and judging round.
Mentors – will meet informally with more than one teams based on their expertise in IOT or understanding of a particular challenge.
Judges – will meet with each teams within a challenge area in three rounds of judging (Panel, Pitch, Presentation)
Sponsors – will offer prizes and can optionally attend the hackathon as their schedule allows.
