Come join TAG’s Young Professionals in giving back to one of the biggest most impactful nonprofits in Georgia: the Atlanta Community Food Bank. You’ll have a blast helping us take a “byte” out of hunger as we sort and package hundreds of pounds of food that will go out to kids, seniors, and families who need it. The volunteer shift from 1 – 4 PM will be followed by a happy hour with light appetizers from 4 – 6 PM at 5 Seasons Westside. You will be on your feet so make sure to wear comfortable and closed toed shoes. This event is to gear up for the TAG wide food and fund drive competition among tech companies and startups across the state. Vehicles including the Ford F150 Natural Gas Vehicle, extended range 2018 Nissan LEAF, dual-fuel propane Law Enforcement Vehicles and Neighborhood Electric Vehicles will join the early morning outdoor technology showcase along with solar and renewable energy displays for business and governments.

    Bytes for Bites (B4B) is an effort of TAG and the Georgia Food Bank Association (GFBA) to engage Georgia’s technology and startup community in the fight against hunger through a friendly food and fund drive competition. Food and funds each company raises stays local and benefits the regional food bank that serves their community, but the glory is statewide. The company that raises the most food and funds, and the company that raises the most food and funds per employee (so companies of all sizes are competitive!) between June 11 and June 22 will be awarded the highly prestigious “TAG Cup” with opportunities for prizes in other categories. Will your company take this year’s cup?

    Compete with technology companies statewide to raise food and funds for the GFBA’s seven (7) Regional Food Banks. Working through nearly 2,400 partner agencies and pantries, the Food Banks distribute more than 140 million pounds of food annually to all 159 counties in Georgia.

Peter Carr, Principal, CapTech

Mr. Carr is a CapTech Principal.  He is a thought leader in the area of data and analytics.  With over 25 years of data management experience with an expertise in data governance and data integration solutions, Mr. Carr has a constant focus on continually learning and evolving organizational data architectures.

Mr. Carr regularly meets with current and prospective clients, vendors, and industry analysts to discuss current business challenges as well as approaches to solving these challenges. Mr. Carr’s core skills include strategic planning, solution design, data architecture, data integration, and data governance.

Prior to joining CapTech, Mr. Carr’s career included work at McKinsey & Company, Exxon Mobil, Informatica, Northrop Grumman Information Technology, and Serco. He also co-founded a China-based start-up company that operated in Shanghai, China, in the late 1990s.

Mr. Carr holds a B.S. and an M.S. in the Management of Information Technology from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce. The General Assembly passed the Georgia Musical Investment Act (started as HB-155 -  effective January 1, 2018).  This act, led by Georgia Music Partners (GMP), was passed to retain Georgia talent and create jobs, such jobs as, musicians, logistics consultants, caterers, lawyers, accountants, composers, engineers, stage designers, lighting designers, managers, promoters and booking agents.

TAGit Golf Tournament 2018

We’ll be back this fall for our 14th annual TAGit golf tournament. This sell-out event funds TAG and the TAG Education Collaborative.

Since its inception, the TAG Education Collaborative has given over $200,000 in scholarships to assist high school students in pursing technology careers. TAGit is one of several programs that supports the TAG Education Collaborative’s STEM initiatives and the programs that go along with it. Last year, TAGit contributed $20,000 in funds collected to the TAG Education Collaborative.

Join us on November 16th for a morning of clay shooting, turkeys and networking!  Etowah Valley Sporting Clays features three courses, ranging from beginner to challenging, with two 14 station courses and 4 station developmental course.  A barbecue lunch and awards ceremony will follow the shoot.
