G. Wayne Clough
TAG announces G. Wayne Clough, secretary of the Smithsonian Institution and former president of the Georgia Institute of Technology, will be inducted into the Technology Hall of Fame of Georgia at the 2009 Georgia Technology Summit, held March 3, 2009. During Clough’s 14-year tenure at Georgia Tech from 1994-2008, research expenditures more than doubled to $473 million and enrollment increased nearly 40 percent. Clough also spearheaded two capital campaigns at Tech, raising more than $1.6 billion in private gifts to the university. The Hall of Fame was established in 1993 to recognize the achievements of outstanding members of Georgia’s technology community. Inductees have helped shape the development of the technology industry in Georgia and each has had a significant impact on the state. Clough was selected by executives of Georgia’s leading technology companies that annually vote on the inductee. PricewaterhouseCoopers served as a lead sponsor of the Hall of Fame.
