Since 2005, TAG has hosted our annual Excalibur Awards program in collaboration with our Business & Technology Alliance society. This awards program is to recognize the many companies throughout Georgia that are classified as “tech-enabled,” or buyers of technology, not producers, but rely on the technology they purchase to excel in their respective business space.
Our Excalibur Awards program is held in the metro-Atlanta area and typically has an attendee count of 450-500 individuals.
Nominations/ Award Criteria
Nominees are welcome from all industries and awards will be granted to those organizations within the small, mid-size and large categories based on the following criteria:
(1) Complexity of the Problem
o How the business problem was resolved or business enhancement achieved through the innovative use of technology. In particular evaluate the complexity of the situation. Factors to consider for complexity are impact to customers, employees, finances, business processes and time.
(2) Creativity of the Solution
o How the technology is being used to conduct business differently (highlight unconventional usage and impact it had on how customers and employees conduct business). Did it change any fundamental business principles or philosophies? Did it have an impact on the company’s culture?
(3) Return on Investment (ROI)/Business Results
o Were savings or increased productivity realized in cost, time, people, capacity, production volume and other areas? What impact, if any, did the new technology have on sales and revenues? Was the company able enter a new marketplace or increase your market penetration? What impact has the technology had on your products and services? More features? Increased quality?
Our Excalibur awards distinguish the people, departments and companies, large and small, who are the recipients of such technologies. The Excalibur award competition affords technology companies, consultants, Chambers of Commerce and other institutions an excellent opportunity to nominate the companies that understand the importance of technology, make the investment, and reap the rewards.
