Band Entry Information

 

 

 TAG 2015 Battle of the Bands

 Online voting will be open:
The week of April 6th

Live Event will be held:
Thursday, April 30, 2015  6:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M.

Opera Atlanta Event Center
1150 Crescent Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30309
(Entrance is located on Crescent Avenue between 13th and 14th St)

 

  

This event has been cancelled for 2015.


Criteria for entering a band:

  1. Entry categories can be in any genre of music
  2. Due to venue and stage size restrictions, bands are limited to 10 band members (please contact one of the representatives listed below if you have special circumstances that need to be considered)
  3. A representative of each band is responsible for submitting the video of their music that is to be displayed online by April 10th, 2015
  4. Each band member must be over 18 year of age
  5. Preferred Video Specifications: 2 minutes, 640 x 360 mp4, data rate: 512 - 768kbps.  Audio track: 128kbps or greater.  If the video is already on YouTube, supply the link for downloading
  6. Although this will be a great marketing opportunity for each band entered, TAG has sole discretion of marketing decisions for this event, to include use of band name, logo and music video in accordance to event protocol set by TAG event coordinators
  7. At least one band member must to be an active TAG member when the application/entry form is submitted
  8. Each band will be required to complete the application/entry form
  9. Entry forms are due to TAG by COB Friday, March 20, 2015

Information for online voting of band videos:

  1. A two-minute video clip of each band entry will be featured on TAG TV for open voting 
  2. Videos will be hosted online at TAG’s discretion and announced  
  3. Music does not have to be original, bands can use a clip of a music video they already have
  4. Videos submitted will be reviewed by event representatives for content appropriateness; if necessary, bands will be contacted to revise video to omit any inappropriate content

Information for Live Event:

  1. The top 5 bands receiving the most cumulative votes will be selected to perform live Opera Atlanta Event Center on April 30th 
  2. The live event will be on April 30, 2015 at Opera Atlanta Event Center (Midtown area) and each band will be responsible for providing any additional equipment and/or instruments not provided as part of the back-line and/or sound equipment
  3. For the live event, the back-line will already be set up for plug & play (including microphones, monitors, keyboards and drum set)
  4. Song selections for the live performance will be reviewed by event representatives for appropriateness of content; if necessary, bands will be contacted to revise video to omit any inappropriate content
  5. There will be professional judges from the music industry and  “people’s choice” voting  at the live event
  6. The top 3 winners will be awarded with trophies and will be publicized in marketing and social media outlets at TAG’s discretion
  7. Additional cash and services (including studio recording time) may be awarded to winning band, based on what options are finalized by TAG prior to the live event date
