Judging Process

GRA/TAG Business Launch 2010

Judging Process

Following submissions of executive summaries and business plans to TAG no later than April 6, 2010, a three step judging process will occur.

The first step in judging will to review the electronic submissions for each entry based on the four general criteria provided.  A team of preliminary judges led by ATDC and supplemented with industry, investment and entrepreneurial representatives will complete the first step in the judging and select a group of semi-finalists.  Each entrant will be notified whether he/she has been selected as a semi-finalist.

The semi-finalists will be invited to present to a panel of judges on May 5, 6 and 7 at Georgia Power Company headquarters on Ralph McGill Boulevard in Atlanta.  Presentations should use PowerPoint and will be limited to 20 minutes.  Following the presentation, the judges will question the entrants for approximately 20 minutes.  The semi-finalists will be offered individual feedback from the judges and a group of finalists will be selected.

Plans of the finalists will be provided to the final judges around May 31, 2010.  The final judging will be held June 2, 2010  at IBM in Atlanta.  Plans of the finalists also may be provided to certain local investors who have expressed interest.  As with the semifinal judging, each entrant will have 20 minutes to present his/her plan using PowerPoint and then will answer questions from the judges for approximately 20 minutes.  The judges will consider the submitted plan, oral presentation and responses to questions in making their final recommendations.

Following all the final presentations, the judges will confer and make a recommendation to the President of TAG who will be solely responsible for the final decision.
