Atlanta-based accounting firm, Moore Colson CPAs, recently announced that Tom Jinks, IT audit director with Moore Colson, has been appointed to the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) Information Security Board. TAG is a Georgia IT Association that promotes the advancement of the state’s technology industry and provides leadership in driving initiatives in the areas of policy, capital, education and giving. TAG also brings the technology community together through events, initiative programs and networking opportunities.

With over 25 year’s experience in IT consulting, management and leadership Jinks will assist TAG’s Information Security Society board as they seek to achieve the mission of enhancing information security awareness through educational meetings, panel discussions, industry speakers and training sessions and the importance of integrating information security into today’s business environment.

Jinks’ role at Moore Colson includes proposing and implementing IT solutions, IT audit services, data privacy and security governance, and project planning and developing and maintaining client relationships. Jinks has excelled in strategic planning, analysis and risk assessment while consulting with business executives and management to identify problems and introduce solutions with measurable results. Jinks has successfully directed both technical and business development management positions, performed CIO/CTO functions on an interim basis, and consulted, designed and audited business continuity/disaster recovery plans for both public and privately held organizations.

As a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and member of Moore Colson’s Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) team, Jinks has managed all phases of IT compliance and controls related to SOX attestation for several $1 billion+ organizations. He has led compliance projects, HIPAA security assessments, preparedness, remediation, and information security best practices consultation for numerous healthcare and life sciences providers. Moore Colson has performed over 18,000 hours of SOX and HIPAA compliance services work, over the last six years.
