Earth Times Press Release

ATLANTA - (Business Wire) TAG Marketing, a society of the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) and Georgia’s premier organization for technology marketing events and networking, announced today the call for entries for two prestigious annual award categories: the 2009 Technology Association Marketer of the Year (TAMY) Awards and the Technology Marketing “Executive of the Year” Award. The deadline to submit entries is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17. Winners will be announced at the TAG Marketing Awards Breakfast on Thursday, May 21. For more information or for downloadable applications and nomination forms, visit http://www.tagonline.org/tamy-awards.php.

“TAG Marketing recognizes the importance of the efforts, leadership and foresight of the individuals who have made a positive impact not only on their own company’s results, but also on the advancement of technology marketing as a whole,” said Allan Hess, TAG Marketing chair. “Technology marketers must continually innovate and reinvent to stay on top of their game.”

The TAMY Awards are particularly relevant in today’s competitive landscape, noted Hess, with companies and agencies alike challenged to demonstrate real return on investment for every marketing dollar. Judged by peer marketing professionals, TAMY winners represent the “best of the best” in creativity and marketing leadership from some of Georgia’s best known, and soon-to-be best known, technology brands.

The 2009 TAMY Awards will recognize both small and large organizations that have demonstrated significant and measurable accomplishments in one of five categories. The company or its affiliate must be currently active in the technology industry in the state of Georgia, and the marketing program entered must have been managed entirely from Georgia. In addition, the programs/tactics submitted must have been carried out primarily during the 2008 calendar year.

“We continue to be amazed at the ingenuity and results achieved by our TAMY Award applicants,” said Stein Soelberg, TAG Marketing awards co-chair. “Participation in the TAMY Awards hit an all-time high last year and we expect even more interest for our eighth annual awards program this year.”

An award will be given to one emerging firm (revenues less than $10 million) and one large firm (revenues greater than $10 million) in each of the following five award categories:

Corporate Repositioning;
Marketing for Growth;
Marketing to the “C” Level;
Customer Marketing; and
Marketing Tactic
Winners of the 2008 TAMY Awards included IP2Biz, Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI), Vitrue, Cbeyond, Inc. and Xerox Mortgage Services.

Additionally, Frank M. Grillo, Executive Vice President of Marketing for Cypress Communications, was honored with the Technology Marketing “Executive of the Year” Award for his outstanding leadership, career achievements and positive impact on technology marketing in Georgia.

2009 represents the fourth year that TAG Marketing will name a Technology Marketing “Executive of the Year,” a recognition that is based on peer nominations for a marketing executive who has clearly demonstrated outstanding leadership, either at a technology company or in a technology role within a non-technology corporation.

The deadline to submit entries and nominations is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17. Winners will be announced at the TAG Marketing Awards Breakfast on Thursday, May 21. For more information or for downloadable applications, visit http://www.tagonline.org/tamy-awards.php.

Sponsorship opportunities for the 2009 Technology Association Marketer of the Year (TAMY) Awards and the Technology Marketing “Executive of the Year” Award are also available. For details, visit http://www.tagonline.org/tamysponsorship.php.
