TAG Diversity: The State of Diversity in Today’s Workplace
With the growth of global interaction, people and businesses of diverse cultures, beliefs and backgrounds are increasingly collaborating in the marketplace, competing in the world economic market, coming from nearly every continent. Diversity in the workplace maximizes and capitalizes the level of creativity and openness to change required in this globalized marketplace.
On Jan 13, some of our community’s leading organizations explored the topic of diversity in the workplace. TAG Diversity was moderated by Jacqueline Welch, Senior Vice President of Human Resources (Turner Broadcasting System) and brought such speakers as Mr. Frank McCloskey, Vice President of Diversity and Corporate Relations (Georgia Power); Ms. Kathleen Kurre, Chief Executive Officer (Techbridge); Mr. Hubert Owens, Acting Director Office of Contract Compliance (City of Atlanta); Anne Harris, Vice President Human Resources (North Highland); and Gina Myers Hampton, Training Coordinator (Digital Insight, an INTUIT Company). These companies, all ranging in size, discussed their diversity programs in action.
