Back to Press Releases

Oct 17, 2007

Atlanta (October 2007) – Larry Street, a Partner at Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP, has joined the board of The Southeastern Software Association (SSA).

SSA is one of the country’s premier networking and professional development organizations for high-tech and software professionals. It describes its board as a “who’s who” of Atlanta technology companies and executives. In addition to serving on the board, Street spoke at a SSA panel discussion on September 18. The topic was “Open Source: Exploring Myths and Realities”

Street leads Morris, Manning & Martin’s Technology/Intellectual Property group, which provides legal services in transactions, contracts and negotiations involving technology, the Internet, computers, software, municipal wireless networking, electronic commerce, licensing, distribution, intellectual property, copyrights, patents, corporate finance, venture capital, energy licensing and development agents. He is also the author of the book, Law of the Internet, published by Lexis Law Publishing Company, which is now in its 10th edition.

Street’s accomplishments include representing EarthLink Inc. in establishing contracts with cities including Philadelphia, New Orleans and Anaheim for implementation of citywide wireless Internet broadband network services.

Earlier this year, he was named one of only 113 attorneys selected to The BTI Client Service All-Star Team for Law Firms. The honor rewards unsurpassed client service given to Fortune 1000 clients.

SSA is one of the South’s oldest technology organizations; Morris, Manning & Martin played a part in its founding many years ago. SSA, along with WIT and B&TA, joined to form the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) in 1998.

Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP, (www.mmmlaw.com) enjoys national prominence for its corporate finance, securities, litigation, technology, intellectual property, real estate and real estate capital markets, environmental, insurance and healthcare practices. The firm has offices in Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Charlotte, Raleigh-Durham and Princeton.
