Dallas Clement

Dallas 

Dallas Clement is chief financial officer for AutoTrader.com, the Internet's ultimate automotive marketplace and consumer information website. Clement leads AutoTrader.com’s finance area including accounting, financial reporting, planning and analysis.  He also oversees the company’s business development and legal activities.

Previously, Dallas served in several leadership positions spanning 20 years at Cox Communications.  Most recently, he led Cox’s strategy and product management organizations.  In the strategy role, he led strategic change and developed the company’s long-term planning process.  His team assessed competitive, technical, consumer and regulatory trends impacting the company’s core businesses and the industry. In this role, he also identified new value-creating growth and steered Cox to new industries and businesses. 

In the product management role, Dallas led the organization that provided leadership across the company’s video, voice and data product lines. He built the team and provided early leadership in developing product roadmaps, prioritizing development initiatives, driving cost efficiency projects, and assessing platform transformations. Dallas also spearheaded Cox’s early wireless strategy.  He oversaw the execution of spectrum acquisition, business model evaluation, team development, wholesale negotiations, network build and go-to-market positioning. 

Earlier in his career at Cox, Clement served four years as treasurer, with responsibility for the company’s investor relations, mergers and acquisitions, capital structure and financial planning and analysis. He joined Cox in 1990 as policy analyst and served in several financial planning roles prior to being named assistant treasurer for Cox Enterprises Inc., the majority owner of Cox Communications. Prior to joining Cox, Clement served as financial analyst for Merrill Lynch.

Clement currently serves as chairman of the board of directors of Simtrol, Inc. In 2004, he received the National Cable Television Association Vanguard Award for Young Leadership. Additionally, he is a graduate of the 2006 class of Leadership Atlanta, a prestigious community leadership program.

Clement received a Bachelor of Arts in applied mathematics and economics from Harvard College and holds a Master of Science in engineering-economic systems from Stanford University.
