The Southeast Technology CEO Retreat is an exclusive 2-day getaway for technology company CEOs who want to improve their effectiveness in the leadership of their companies. CEO
The Global Institute for Inspiriation

Terry Barber is the founder and CEO of the Global Institute for Inspiration, a research based learning and consultancy firm specializing in assisting organizations increase workplace and consumer inspiration leading to higher levels of engagement, innovation, and advocacy. He is also the author of The Inspiration Factor, a practical guide on how you cannot just motivate others but truly inspire them to greatness.

As the senior strategist for the Grizzard Communications Group (an Omnicom Brand-Direct Company) from 2000 - 2010, he has served some of the greatest brands on the planet, including Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center, Emory Healthcare, Duke Medicine, Texas A&M, National Parkinson Foundation, Cooper Industries, Family Entertainment, and Compassion International.  

Terry created and launched the first ever consumer-centric study on America's Most Inspiring Companies™ and to learn how these companies became so successful at getting customers and employees to advocate their mission.  The findings from the research were first published in Forbes, May 2010 and then reprinted in hundreds of business journals around the world. It was valued and used by many multi-national companies including Microsoft, McDonalds, and Southwest Airlines.  The 2011 report was released again through Forbes in September of 2011 and is now part of the Forbes portfolio of lists.

Terry's accomplishments also include serving as the architect for a movement that engaged over 300,000 families into the Great American Hero brand that resulted in over 10,000 passionate followers promoting the mission and the product.  Over 100 professional actors were enlisted and equipped to perform in 3,000 plus schools across America as one of twelve historical American heroes such as Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. 

Through the years, Terry has taken this message of how to gain passionate fans, internally and externally, to over one million people in face-to-face presentations and continues to consult with companies and nonprofits on the same.  Most recently, he has begun the build out a state of the art experiential learning lab called The Incubator for Inspiration.

As a media resource, he has appeared on ABC News, Fox Business, and CNN radio.  His articles on leadership and employee engagement have appeared in hundreds of publications around the world including Business Week and Forbes.

ROGER TUTTEROW
Economist
Mercer University

Roger Tutterow is Professor of Economics at Mercer University. He previously served as Dean of the Mercer’s Stetson School of Business.

His analysis of the economic, business and political environments have been featured in a variety of media including Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, USA Today, Atlanta Journal & Constitution, Arizona Republic, Florida Times-Union, Kansas City Star, Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Orlando Sentinel, Palm Beach Post, Wichita Eagle and on CNN, CNBC, NBC, Bloomberg Television, NPR’s “Marketplace” and “All Things Considered”, CNN-Radio as well as by regional electronic and print media.

In addition to his work in academia, Dr. Tutterow has served as a consultant on financial economics and statistical modeling for corporate clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to closely-held businesses. He also serves as Chief Economic Advisor for the Henssler Financial Group. He has provided expert testimony on economic, financial and statistical matters in state & federal court, before the Georgia General Assembly and before the Georgia Public Service Commission. Dr. Tutterow has given several hundred speeches to professional and civic groups on various topics in the economic, business and political arenas.

He was selected as one of “Georgia’s Most Influential” by James magazine and by Georgia Trend magazine as one of the “forty under 40” rising stars in business, government and academia. In 2003, Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue appointed Dr. Tutterow to serve on the Governor’s Council of Economic Advisors. In 2010, he was named to the Special Council on Tax Reform and Fairness for Georgians. In addition, Dr. Tutterow serves as a member of on the Georgia Child Support Commission, on the Board of Trustees of Berry College, the Board of Directors of Vinings Bank, the Southern Region Board of Directors for the American Red Cross Blood Services and the Board of Directors for Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Atlanta.

A Georgia native, Dr. Tutterow holds a B.S. in Decision Science from Berry College and a M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from Georgia State University. Prior to joining Mercer University, Dr. Tutterow held faculty and administrative appointments at West Virginia University, Georgia State University and Kennesaw State University. He has also served as a visiting professor at the University of the West Indies in Trinidad and at the Institute for Industrial Policy Studies in Seoul, South Korea.

Langley is located in the firm’s Atlanta office. He began his career with UBS Financial Services Inc. in 1991, and works with wealthy individuals and families, including entrepreneurs and executives. Langley’s philosophy emphasizes a customized approach to wealth management, and he uses the firm’s extensive resources in equity management, fixed income and hedging strategies to help his clients pursue their financial and estate planning goals. He is a member of the UBS President’s Club and has been a UBS Pacesetter. Langley graduated from the University of North Carolina (UNC)–Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in economics. After serving as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force, he returned to UNC–Chapel Hill and earned an M.B.A. in finance.

Langley is active in a number of community organizations in the Atlanta area, such as Georgia Bio and the Technology Association of Georgia. He serves as a board member for the Metro Atlanta Red Cross. He has also been selected to participate in the exclusive Buckhead Business Association Leadership Development Program. A past participant in the Atlanta FBI Citizens Academy, Langley has also served as the President of the Atlanta Chapter of the UNC– Chapel Hill Alumni Association.

Outside of the office, Langley enjoys fishing, hiking and playing various sports with his young family.
